Carol singing on Hounslow High Street
Although the UK is regarded as a ‘Christian country’, only 5% of our people attend church! So how do we reach with the Gospel the 95% who never come in?!
Jesus’ last command must be our priority; “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel”. Here in Hounslow we have “the world” on our High Street! So, once a month we “Go”, and sing God’s praises, leafleting and chatting with folk. This is a picture our group when we sang Christmas carols on Saturday 19th on Hounslow High Street, on a “cold and frosty morning!
Carol singing at the Civic Centre
A group of Christians from the Civic Centre Christian Union and several local churches sang Christmas Carols outside the Civic Centre to raise funds for the Hounslow Mayor’s Charity. The weather was great, the music uplifting and the response from visitors and staff, encouraging.
It was a practical reminder of our duty to pray: Scripture teaches, “I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our saviour, Who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the Truth.”
